2023: ITMA 2023 Milan Italy, Special Issue 1
Introduction to JTATM: ITMA 2023, Special Issue 1 of 2 ITMA 2023 (19th show) was held in Milan, Italy, June 8-14. Despite the slowdown in the world economy impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic, this ITMA show attracted 111,000 visitors from 143 countries with an exhibition space of 200,000 square meters that accommodated 1,709 exhibitors from 47 countries. The show has exceeded all expectations as the record was broken in terms of number of exhibitors since its inception in 1951. The technologies exhibited at ITMA 2023 show covered the entire textile manufacturing pipeline (from fiber formation to market) with focus on sustainability and digitization. This JTATM special issue 1 covers the most innovative technologies of conversion of fiber to yarns and fabrics, along with assessment and evaluation. These two issues cover a range of technologies that are of interest to scholars and industry professionals providing insights into digitization and sustainability.
