Abstract

The present study was done on the influence of various stitch length on geometric and dimensional properties of knitted fabrics produced from air covered spandex yarn. Cotton spandex air covered yarn was knitted into single jersey and its derivative structures of double pique with three different stitch length variables were selected for the product development. The results show that the changes in stitch length have significant impact on knit fabric geometric properties except wales per inch at all the relaxation states. The results have clearly depicted that the change in stitch length does not play any major role in the wale density of knitted fabrics.
